This knife has the beauty of a real subtropical hardwood that has been weathered and sun-dried for seven years. All Jonestead wood products are repurposed from our retired avocado grove, not a timber lot or a shrinking forest. Your piece was felled, milled, shaped, and faced on the same location by the same man, and discussed heartily throughout with the same wife. We think this wood, with all its color, flaw, streaking, and depth, is among the most beautiful and most unique in the world.
